Garlic Pepper Shrimp


1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons dry white wine or cooking sherry
6-8 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 pounds of extra-large (26-30 count) raw shrimp


1. Combine the oil, lemon juice, wine, garlic, paprika, salt, black pepper and crushed red pepper flakes in s 5 or 6 quart slow cooker, stirring until blended.
2. Cover and cook on high for 25 to 30 minutes to soften the garlic and develop the flavors.
3. Stir in the shrimp and coat evenly.
4. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, then stir to ensure the shrimp are cooking evenly.
5. Cover again and cook for an additional 10 minutes or until all of the shrimp are done.
6. Transfer the shrimp and sauce to a wide, shallow serving dish and serve!
